Zagreb, Croatia • Practical. Honest. Personal.

You spent a lifetime
earning and spending.
Now let's learn
to manage it.

A two-session program for Croatian retirees navigating life on a pension that is roughly half of their former salary. We build a real, working budget together. No investments. No products. No shame.

The pension arrived. The salary did not.

Retirement in Croatia often means a sudden drop to roughly half of what you were earning. The bills do not drop. The medications do not get cheaper. The utilities go up every season. And nobody ever taught you how to manage a fixed income because you never needed to.

Calling your children for money feels wrong. You worked for forty years. You are not careless with money. You just never had to track it this carefully before.

"We work with what you actually have. Not with what you wish you had."

This program is not about cutting every pleasure from your life. It is about understanding your money clearly enough that you can make real choices. That is a different thing entirely.

Two sessions. Everything you need.

Each participant builds their own budget. We do not hand you a template and send you home. We sit down together and build it from your real numbers.

Complete income mapping
We document every source: pension, supplements, any additional income. Nothing guessed.
Fixed expenses identified
Rent or mortgage, utilities, phone, subscriptions. We find the number that does not move.
Medication cost planning
Prescriptions, over-the-counter items, seasonal needs. Planned for, not hoped for.
Seasonal utility planning
Heating in winter, cooling in summer. Budgeted across the year so no month is a shock.
Variable spending categories
Food, transport, clothing, small pleasures. Assigned real amounts, not wishful ones.
Emergency buffer system
A simple method to build a small cushion even on a tight pension. Realistic, not dramatic.
Written personal budget document
You leave session two with your own printed budget. Not a worksheet. Your actual plan.
No products, no advice on investments
We do not sell anything. We do not recommend funds, insurance or financial products of any kind.

What happens in each session

Each session has a clear purpose. Together they produce one complete, usable budget.

Participant mapping income and expenses in session one
Session 01

Where does the money actually go?

We start with your real pension amount and map everything that leaves your account each month. Fixed costs, recurring bills, irregular expenses that catch you off guard. Most people are surprised by what they find. That is the point.

Session 02

Building the system that holds

We take everything from session one and turn it into a working monthly system. Categories, limits, a simple tracking method you will actually use. We also plan for the hard months: January heating bills, summer air conditioning, annual payments.

Things people usually ask

Straightforward answers to the questions we hear most often.

Do I need to bring financial documents?
Bring whatever you have. A recent pension slip is ideal. If you have utility bills, medication receipts, or bank statements from the last two or three months, those help too. If you have nothing, we work with estimates and refine them together. Do not let paperwork stop you from coming.
Is this only for people in financial difficulty?
Not at all. Many participants are managing reasonably well but feel uncertain or anxious about money. The program is for anyone who wants to understand their retirement finances more clearly. You do not need to be in crisis to benefit from having a real plan.
Will you try to sell me something?
No. We do not offer investment advice, insurance products, savings accounts, or any financial product of any kind. This is an educational program. We help you understand and organise your own money. That is the complete scope of what we do.
Can my spouse or partner attend with me?
Yes, and in many cases it is better if they do. When both partners understand the household budget, it reduces misunderstandings and makes the plan easier to maintain. Couples build one shared budget together across the two sessions.
What if my pension is very low?
We work with whatever income you have. A lower pension does not mean the program is less useful. It often means it is more important. We also look at whether you may be eligible for supplements or social support you are not currently receiving.
Where do the sessions take place?
Sessions take place at our Zagreb office at Pantovčak 5, 10000 Zagreb. The space is accessible and quiet. We can discuss other arrangements if travel is difficult for you. Contact us and we will find a workable solution.
